As you can see there are 4 tabs and they're named Main, Front-end, Back-end and Highlight.

Main

AceSearch

Enable Version checker

If set to YES, AceSearch notifies you if a new version is enabled. You can disable it if there is any connection problem with joomace.net website.
Default value: Yes

Show database errors

Show fatal errors if database functions fails.
Default value: No

Upgrade

Download-ID

Enter the Download-ID if you have purchased Plus/Pro/VIP version of AceSearch. The Download-ID is used to identify your copy and install the copyright-free version.

Permanent Cache

Version Info

Caching Version Info will increase the loading speed of the backend area (Control Panel) of AceSearch. The life time is 1 day for Version Info's cache.
Default value: Yes

Extensions' Parameters

Caching Extensions' Parameters will decrease the queries made to database and speed-up your site. However, you need to clean your cache every time you made changes on extensions's parameters if you've enabled this.
Default value: No



Front-end

Search

Show extensions list

Show extensions list so that users can perform searches only for the selected extension.
Default value: Yes

Enable auto completer

Toogle whether to auto complete words while typing in the search box. Gather search statistics option must be enabled.
Default value: Yes

Enable suggestions

Toogle whether to show a Google like 'Did you mean:' with suggestion if there is no result found.
Default value: Yes

Highlight search terms

Toogle whether search terms should be highlighted in search results.
Default value: Yes

Gather search statistics

Select whether to store search statistics in database to use them later as suggestions and auto complete words while typing in the search box.
Default value: Yes

Show advanced search

Show advanced search link in front-end page.
Default value: Yes

Search limit

The number of items to return when performing a search. This limit is extension based.
Default value: 50

Min. search characters

Enter the min. character limit that the search query should contain to perform a search.
Default value: 3

Max. search characters

Enter the max. character max limit that the search query should be to perform a search.
Default value: 20

Blacklist

Enter here the words that will prevent the search results that contains them to be shown. Separate them by comma.
Default value:

Results

Display format

What would you like the search result format to be? A summary table or the expanded search results?.
Default value: Search results

Enable Access Control

Toogle whether the Access Control should be checked with search results.
If is set to No and user has not access to any result, he/she will view it but will be redirected to login page after clicking on it.
Default value: Yes

Show URL

Toogle whether the URL should be displayed with search results.
Default value: Yes

Show properties

Toogle whether the properties like Section, Category, Date etc. should be displayed with search results.
Default value: Yes

Title Length

Enter the max. title length for search results.
Default value: 60

Show description

Toogle whether to show the drop-down select box for pagination.
Default value: Yes

Show pagination select

Toogle whether to show the drop-down select box for pagination.
Default value: Yes

Date Format

Select the date format you want to show for search results.
Default value: Monday, 01 April 2011

Here you can define different colors for each search keyword.
