So, I tried and unistall and reinstall again This time it did not auto populate my SEF urls like it did the second time i reinstalled...

You can get from a Joomla installatino package, htaccess.txt then rename it to .htaccess .

Have you used SEF before on that site? I mean are you sure that your server supports mod_rewrite ?

I have confirmed with my server settings and it does support mod_rewrite and is running php v 5.2.

Question on the .htaccess file again. You said it needs to be located in the native joomla file. Mine seems to default to my public html folder on my server. Could that be the problem?

The .htaccess file have to be located in the folder that Joomla is intalled.

You can get a clean htaccess.txt from a Joomla installation ZIP file.

still not working... I got a clean file, renamed it, put it in the folder (public html) where joomla is installed. I then unistalled AceSEF, and logged off my Joomla account. I think logged back in, reinstalled a new download of AceSEF.

What's weird is that when I reinstalled for the first time awhile ago, it auto populated SEF urls... and it has never done it since then. Is that normal?

What do you mean with auto populate?

No, there is no record in the url repository. That's what I was referring to. There were a bunch of records, under SEF urls, that appeared once... but never again.
