is there a way to override aceSEF's auto generated meta description for my home page? It's great on all the other pages, but on the front page it's sticking the meta data from my first news article in there which I don't want. If I could get it to be a fixed description and keywords just for that page it would be great.

I tried to go to the Meta Manager however there wasn't an entry specifically for my root page to edit. Perhaps there should be a "front page" specific extension where I can tweak those settings?

any ideas?

Go to AceSEF=>SEF URLs then open the edit page of the empty URL that you've set as Used then go to SEO tab, there you can edit your metadata.

I couldn't override the frontpage meta data because I didn't technically have a front page SEF url.

hi denis et al,
slight problem - after manually adding a home page sef (using the above method), I can't find it in the SEF URLs list? I added a few (trying different options like saving it as a moved URL, locking/unlocking etc..), still it never popped up in my list.

then I went to the meta manager and the site map tabs and see all of the ones I added in there... they are just not in the sef list for me to do anything with.

how can I edit a clean these up???

I've noticed that sometime the frontpage article comes up blank or just '/'. What I did was find the blank entry in SEF url's and change to whatever you would like it to be.

thanks for the reply. yup, I looked for that "/" entry, even tried to add one when I was creating my own frontpage sef url. however, now I have about 5 front page sef urls... all of which I can see in the meta manager and sitemap list, but none of which I can see in the actual sef url list... I've sorted that list backwards and forwards, gone through all the pages, purged and watch the list rebuild.. for some reason those front page urls are being filtered out and not shown.

it just dawned on me... I suppose I could log into mysqladmin and remove the table entries directly. sux though, philosophically I don't like having to directly edit db entries for a product for a paid product.

I'll keep searching for a solution, hopefully some ace developers will weigh in as well.

Go to AceSEF=>SEF URLs and set the SEF URLs filter to Custom URLs. There is a Save as Custom option while adding/editing any SEF URL.

ahah, that did it. I think I tried every drop down except that one. handy to be able to access that list.
