TOPIC: Parts of WebSite Not Available with 1.5.12
#16582
Parts of WebSite Not Available with 1.5.12 1 Week, 1 Day ago
I installed Version 1.5.12 of AceSEF this morning. I am using K2 and Jungle Template. Now nothing in my right column of my site is visible at all, and the background coloring of my template has been changed. What should I do? Best regards, Skip Conover My site is archetypeinaction.org

I now see that the right hand column does appear, but below the main body of my site, instead of its correct position to the right of the main body. The background color is still changed.

OK, I will do my best, but it has to wait a while because I'm in the middle of something else. Hopefully within 6 hours.

Here is the information on what is happening, only on my home page, using your version 1.5.12:

AceSEF Version 1.5.12 installed this morning. Problem immediately presented as change in the background color of my template and moved my entire right column below my left column--only on the Home page. I suggest to see the problem simply go to the site at archetypeinaction.org This is only happening on the "Home" page, so if you click through on any of the items, you will see how it is supposed to look. The attached screen shot shows the end of the home page and the beginning of the right column pushed underneath, but you can see this for yourself by looking at the site.

The other information you require:

Joomla: 1.5.22
PHP: 5.2.15
MySQL: 5.1.39-log
Server Type: Apache with PHP Built on Linux
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0
Control Panel K2: v2.4.1

If you need any other information, please let me know.

Best regards, Skip

Have you tried to purge all URLs?
Have you tried this with AceSEF off and core Joomla SEF on?

Regretfully, I have no idea what you are talking about in your response. I don't see how to turn AceSEF off and turn JoomlaSEF on. Sorry, I'm just a newbie, and I'm not very clear about how all of these things interact. What I do know is that after installing the update yesterday, suddenly my right column material, which includes the site login, comments, a SOBI2 component, and Users now appears below the main body of my site. How can I go about fixing that?

I'm not very clear what "purge all URLs" means. Would AceSEF then create new SEF URLs? I installed AceSEF on another site before, and had a big problem, because none of the earlier created content was then viewable. Rather than go back and manually change everything, I blew away the site and started over again, installing AceSEF first. Everything was then working fine until this upgrade yesterday.

Presumably, if you could just tell me how to reposition my right column and change the background color, that would solve the problem for me, assuming the problem is unique to my site: archetypeinaction.org .

As you have recognized your issue is not a common one (in fact first time I come across) so I would request a super admin account to check it myself support[at]joomace[dot]net

That will not be necessary at this point. I finally had to go to a backup maintained by my host. The control panel does say that I have your AceSEF version 1.5.12 installed, and the site seems to be working normally now. You can close out this discussion for the time being. I'll come back to you if I have further problems. Thanks for trying to help! Happy Holidays and Happy New Year! Best regards, Skip
