we are having problems updating the AceSEF pro.

The only file we have on record is 1.5.2

When we try to update we get the following error:

* JFolder::files: Path is not a folder
* JFolder::folder: Path is not a folder
* JFolder::files: Path is not a folder
* ERRORNOTFINDJOOMLAXMLSETUPFILE
* An error occured, please, make sure the "Global Configuration=>Server=>Path to Temp-folder" field has a valid value.

The path to Temp-Folder is a valid value, as we dont seem to have an issue installing anything else.

When we attempted to download the presumed newest file 1.5.9 using our download ID, which is for a six month subscription which we purchased in September 2010, appears to have a problem with the ID.

I think by the rest of the un-replied threads, this glitch seems to be an issue which others are facing. Please let us know where we go about:

1. Downloading the new up to date version
2. What is going wrong with the Automatic Update

ALSO: a warning for those impatient once - we thought we may be able to use the FREE acesef to upgrade, whilst it seems to work, It will revert back to the Free version - restricting access to functionality and and when un-installing to get the pro version back it will wipe any settings. - Be warned!

Upgrade 1.5.6 to 1.5.9 failed 1 Month ago  
The upgrade from your server is still not working

* JFolder::create: Infinite loop detected
* Unable to create destination
* An error occured, please, make sure the "Global Configuration=>Server=>Path to Temp-folder" field has a valid value.

The tmp folder is /var/www/vhosts/hausproject.com/httpdocs/tmp

This is writable as your file is uploaded each time, its about 20kb however the file hsa permissions 0640 is this correct ?

There're 3 reasons that causes this error:
1. Invalid Path to Temp-folder
2. tmp folder not writable
3. Your Download-ID is invalid

You've reached the download limit that's why the Download-ID has become invalid. I've increased your download limit and re-send you the new Download-ID.

The current download system counts every automatic upgrade as a download so for now use the manual upgrade for multiple sites. This issue will be solved soon.

Hi all,

I have this issue for more than a week to no avail.

From 1.5.6 to 1.5.8 then 1.5.9

1 My path is correct on every site I own
2 tmp folder and httpdocs are 777 and I can use it for any other install on Joomla
3 My download-id was invalid after I wrote to commercial and a new was sent to me.

With this new ID I was able to download the com_acesef_pro.zip from Joomace, I entered the new ID in the right field and still not working.

Both "Upgrade from JoomlAce server" and "Upgrade download manual file using the com_acesef_pro.zip downloaded earlier" gives:

* JFolder::create: Infinite loop detected
* Directory could not be created: /var/www/vhosts/xxxxxx.com/httpdocs
* Errors detected when upgrading AceSEF. Please check the errors reported above and repeat the upgrade process.

httpdocs being at 777 I don't see where the problem is so far...

OK that explains it. I have two subscriptions (because you dont do an upgrade price) one has expired. Changed the download ID and it is working. I have reverted from pro to plus is that going to give me a problem ?

I did receive the ID Code by mail after writing to customer service and was able to download the com_acesef_pro.zip. But I can't still update from the server nor I can from the archive I downloaded

No, it won't give you any problem.

You're is totally coused by your Temp-Folder settings, here I found "some" same results, try to apply them and/or search further on Joomla forums because there is no static solution:

Thanks Denis but I've been working on those forum for more than 4 hours before I wrote on Joomace forum!

- I dont have any problem with the path since it works fine with any other plugins install
- I have tried every single possibility with CHMOD and CHOWN from httpdocs to tmp and logs to no avail
- I have tried safe mode on and off

In any situation I can't update ACESEF and I can do everything else without a hiccup (see screen copy below).

I must also add that many time I do have in the tmp folder (after asking for upgrade from the joomace server) a 20k acesef_upgrade.zip that is not readable under any OS. I enclose it for your information.

I do think there is a registration problem somewhere. Can you check that with you server?

(component install success today)
