Hi,

I have JComments installed with K2 and it creates duplicate URL's with items that have comments and also assigns a completely wrong ItemID.

I tried the solution in this post www.joomace.net/support/forums?func=view...=54&id=6798#6798 but it does not work.

Anyone have any ideas?

The URL's are:

11 www.diyrecipes.net/white-bread = index.php?option=com_k2&Itemid=55&id=104&view=item

12 www.diyrecipes.net/white-bread = index.php?option=com_k2&Itemid=85&id=104&view=item

No 11 (screenshot 1) is correct and 12 (screenshot 2) is not.

This does not happen with th default K2 comments system.

Normally on the first use of a url it works correctly but sometimes if you refresh the page or navigate back to the page at a later time it changes it creates a duplicate url.

The duplication is not coused by JComments but by the different "Itemid=" variables. We've encountered with this issue with other customers too which the source was modules not getting the proper ItemID. Here you can see what is ItemID:

I have noticed the ItemID change but the fact is still as soon as I installed JComments the duplicates started appearing. I then uninstalled it and this did not happen and problem solved. Installed it again and the problem is back.

Then it's related with any module of JComments. You can disable recording duplicated URLs for K2 extension from it's parameters.

Yeah, I don't actually have any JComments modules enabled anywhere on the site but don't worry, I'll keep on fiddling and see how it goes.
