Re: Custom rule for Flexicontent
Sorry about that, I should have explained better. I am trying to avoid using jdownloads as I can see many bugs from that component.
What I did was remove AceACL for a bit while I was trying to clean up a few things, I created a test field in Flexicontent that would allow the PDF to be downloaded at that article. I set it so that only registered users can see the download button and download the PDF. That part worked fine, I then reinstalled AceACL and the field no longer was showing to registered users only. It is now showing to everyone. Without AceACL it works fine with showing the download button to only registered users. I want to have two fields, one that shows to non-registered guests that they need to register to download the article PDF, and once registered they will see the download button. I am just trying to figure out how to set the rule for the fields area. I see there is rules already set for some fields that come with Flexicontent, just trying to figure out the custom fields rules.
Hope this helps.

I have noticed that new users that register on the site get put into the registered user group, but on the control panel of Joomla under logged in users, it shows them in the group Super Administrator. Under the user manager it shows them in the registered user group. Probably just a bug, just giving a heads up.

Is there any way to make a rule for a custom field in Flexicontent?
Here is an example of the non-SEF URL of the download link:
index.php?option=com_flexicontent&Itemid=34&cid=2711&fid=16&id=2&task=download

Re: JDownloads Issue
Thank you for your work on this issue, unfortunately this only worked up until I added files to other categories. I am not sure why this stopped working, but I removed the files from the other categories and now it will not work at all. I have cleared all cache's, restarted my browser and nothing will work. The only thing I could do for now until a solution is worked out was to use jdownloads built in {jdreg} tag. Let me know if there is something else that can be done.
Thank you.

Re: JDownloads Issue
So after logging in, I saw AceACL was still enabled. I noticed on the control panel if you click on the disable button on the welcome drop down it does not work. I have to go to status and disable able the first three one at a time. Then AceACL is disabled. Right now it is disabled and the categories are not showing. I had to close my browser and open again, the cache is funny with jdownloads. Let me know if you can see it now.

Re: JDownloads Issue
I will try that right now. I know it works when I disable AceACL, have not tried disabling AceSEF.

Re: JDownloads Issue
So I am getting a little frustrated with this component. The reason I purchased this component without a working demo is there was a extension for jdownloads. The free version does not allow for a rule change, so downloading the free version was pointless for me.
I have tried every combination for making a rule that I can think of. Every new rules I have applied I have cleared all cache's and cannot get the downloads area to show to guests of the site. I have two non-SEF url's:
Main Menu Non-SEF URL: index.php?option=com_jdownloads&view=viewcategories
AceSEF Non-SEF URL: index.php?option=com_jdownloads&Itemid=205
Not sure exactly which one to use, so I used both in different combinations and still nothing will show up for guests.
From the main menu link on the front-end, it is set to view all categories (which I have 4). When a user logs in, they can see the categories just fine. But when when logged out, it says there is no categories. I want guests to be able to view this area, but have to register to download.
Could someone please guide me in the right direction to let me know what I am doing wrong. I have read the rules documentation about 15 times and still can't get any where.
Thanks

So here is the issue I am having, I am sure it is something I am doing wrong. I have installed AceACL and have installed the jdownloads extension. I am trying to make a rule for AceACL to show categories, I have tried everything and still cannot get it to show the main categories. The real URL is index.php?option=com_jdownloads&view=viewcategories I have put the action as viewcategories and still cannot get this to list. It will only show an empty categories list. If I disable AceACL the categories display fine. What am I doing wrong?

Re: JDownloads Error
Let me correct myself here, when I use the upgrade through the control panel. It does upgrade to 1.5.13, but on the panel it still says 1.5.12 is the latest with the oops error showing.

Re: JDownloads Error
I looked at 4 other sites that I own that have AceSearch on it and all still say 1.5.12 even after clearing all cache's between acesearch and joomla (just to make sure).

Re: JDownloads Error
I couldn't do it through the control panel as it still shows 1.5.12 as being the latest version. I did manually upgrade it and it works great now. The only issues now are the latest version on the control panel and the upgrade button in the extensions area not working.
Thank you for the quick response.

I installed the jdownloads extension for AceSearch, cleared all cache's and tested on the front end of the site. I am only getting blank pages. When I disable the jdownloads extension, everything works again.
I checked my error log and I am getting this error:
[13-Dec-2011 05:04:49] PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined method AcesearchExtension::getAccessLevelsWhere() in /home/me/public_html/administrator/components/com_acesearch/extensions/com_jdownloads.php on line 98
For now, I have disabled this so that acesearch will function correctly again. Also, I noticed another error with AceSearch. I have installed the flexicontent extension that I downloaded a few weeks ago. But when I go into the extensions area of AceSearch, I notice that it says to upgrade the extension. The upgrade button does not work. Just FYI.
Thanks

Demo Site
Is there any ETA on the demo site for AceACL? Would like to try it before deciding on purchasing it. I want to see how the groups area is laid out and not sure if the free version will show that.
Thanks
