Performance + Number of DB queries
So I was purchasing a Pro license today after some basic testing of the free version, but after a while the serious performance drop bugged me a little.
I am developing with caching off, because that's just the reference for me. A site must run ok enough with cache off in order to be ready for the masses.
So I turned on Joomla debugging and it turns out there are 10 times more DB queries on the frontpage alone with AceSEF on, namely 175. With it off, it's just 17 queries. On other pages the ratio is similar, 20 with it off, 220 (!!) queries with AceSEF turned on.
Is this normal?

You're right, the current verison of AceSEF uses too much queries if you don't use cache but we've optimized 300% the number of queris in AceSEF 1.5 which will be released soon (couple of weeks).
240 queries with AceSEF 1.3
60 queries with AceSEF 1.5
