HELP.... Set up has created chaos on my site

HI... need urgent help

I have installed aceSEF, in the backend of my site it says everything is OK, and all of the configuration settings are as per the manuals screen shots,  but from the actual site, every link is 404'ing making my site unusable.

What do I do to solve this problem? How?

There are 2 kind of 404 erros, site & server side. So could you plz share a screenshot of the error?

Does your server support mod_rewrite?

Did you renamed the .htaccess file?

Thanks for the reply.

Question 1. - Server supporting mod rewrite = how would I tell?

Question 2 = yes I renamed the htacess.txt file to htaccess

The 404 message is a server side message. You should contact your hosting company and ask them to install mod_rewrite.

Requirements tab sayf that mod_rewrite (in Joomla configuraiton) is enabled, not that your server supports mod_rewrite because we can't check that.
