Using Moved URLs

Hello,

Our site is fairly old and as I've only installed Acesef today, there are numerous URL's in Google that are now producing 404's.

So I believed the correct thing to do would be to use "Moved URL's" and manually create rules that permit OLD URL to point to NEW URL.

For example:

Google shows:  www.mysite.com/index?option=com_eventlist&Itemid=66

The new URL is:  http://www.mysite.com/festivals/

I have created this in Moved URL's, however, when I click the URL entry in Google, the new rule is not being used.

I have saved it, applied it, published it etc. Is there something else I need to do to get it to activate?

Re: Using Moved URLs

The "Moved URLs" is for SEF 2 SEF redirects, for non-SEF 2 SEF you should use the "SEF URLs" section. So create a new SEF URL using the Google's Real URL.

Ratings/Reviews on the Joomla Extension Directory are always appreciated.
