Sobi category metadata, joomfish and acesef. 2 Months, 3 Weeks ago
Hey folks,

I have a sobi website using 2 languages, English and Greek. The default behavior of sobi category metadata description is that they are pulled from the cat description of sobi. Sobi categories (description) are translated by joomfish for the 2nd language, namely Greek.

The problem is that when acesef is activated the translation provided by joomfish is ignored. So when browsing categories in the Greek language, the metadata desciption that appears is the one that has been input in Sobi, namely English.

When acesef is not active, all translation works fine in the metadata.

My basic question is: Am I doing something wrong or is this 'feature' not implemented in Acesef + sobi plugin?
I am using (outdated) Acesef 1.3.4 and sobi plugin 1.3.5. The problem was there when they were the latest versions, I prefer knowing this may work before updating.

If it is supposed to work then my settings are:
Joomla 1.5.20 and sobi RC 2.9.2.3
Acesef general settings and Sobi plugin settings attached screenshots +

Alright I have answered my question: YES, Acesef DOES handle/support joomfish translations for sobi categories (as metadata description).

I am not quite sure what the problem was, but selectively purging the problematic url's gave the desired results.
(Yes of course I should of tried this stuff before posting)
I did this on a localhost testcopy I hope to see the same behavior live! (but I see no reason why it shouldn't work as well)

Although I'm not entirely finished with my 'investigation', it seems everything is working like a dream even with sobi's 3rd level cache enabled.

Finally a note for sobi users, unless you specifically have a reason to do so, it is probably better not to allow duplicate urls to be recorded.

By the way, great component! Keep up the good work!
