i have the latest JoomAce installed with the latest extension on Joomla 1.5.22

the problem is that when you perform a search, the search result url become SEF-ed and return no results.
I know it's not coming from the search module itself because it works perfectly when using not SEF rewrite and works also perfectly when i use the Joomla core SEF rewrite engine.

Is there a way to disable rewrite for for the search only.

The HP search form action in the php file is:
action=" 'searches'))); ?>"

which generate when no SEF (JoomAce or core joomla) is activated:
action="index.php?option=com_hotproperty&view=searches&layout=results&Itemid=1&"

And when JomAce is activated it becomes:
/searches.html

The result page url with NO SEF enabled:

and with joomla core SEF enable:
home/search?Field[price][from]=2000&Field[price][to]=3000

and with JoomAce enabled:
searches.html?Field[price][from]=2000&Field[price][to]=3000

and with NO SEF rewrite:
index.php?option=com_hotproperty&view=searches&layout=results&Itemid=1&Field[price][from]=2000&Field[price][to]=3000

does anyone have an idea how to fix this?

I tried to play with the "non-SEF variables" and "disable-SEF variables" but i'm not sure how it works and the documentation is not very clear to me on how to use it (It would be good to have an example in the documentation).

Go to "AceSEF=>Extensions=>Mosets Tree=>URLs=>Common Parameters" and add "view=searches" to disable-SEF variables list. After that delete the SEF link for searches.

thanks for your answer. We are getting closer.
With your suggestion, i see now that the URL in the form action is not being "SEF-ed".
But i still get an error:
500 - HotpropertyViewSearches::display() : Invalid call, cannot find the 'displayResultsFieldpricefrom2000' method in 'MosetsViewSearches' class.

But what i found out looking at the URLs of the result page when JoomAce is enable and when no SEF is enable is the missing "&Itemid=1" in the URL that returns the 500 error as shown bellow:
working URL:
index.php?option=com_hotproperty&view=searches&layout=results&Itemid=1&Field[price][from]=2000&Field[price][to]=3000
not working URL:
index.php?option=com_hotproperty&view=searches&layout=results?Field[price][from]=2000&Field[price][to]=3000

Even when JoomAce is enable and i paste directly in the browser "index.php?option=com_hotproperty&view=searches&layout=results&Itemid=1&Field[price][from]=2000&Field[price][to]=3000" it works and return proper search results.

So my guess is we need to have JoomAce not escaping the "&Itemid=1" part of the URL.

Is there a way to do so?

actually it was a wrong assumption.

the problem is the "?" (question mark) that gets injected in the URL:
index.php?option=com_hotproperty&view=searches&layout=results?Field[price][from]=2000&Field[price][to]=3000

even if the "&Itemid=1" is not present the search results are working fine.

So by deduction the problem is that "?".

How can we disable that?

Go to /public_html/administrator/components/com_acesef/extensions/com_hotproperty.php and add this code:

If you want to add itemid in link, you should go to AceSEF=>Configuration=>URLs and set to Yes "Insert active ItemID".
After all these don't forget to clean cache (if it is active), delete old URLs and generate new ones.

thanks for the reply.

since it does not convert the search URL i don't get anymore error message. but it's still convert the "&" after the item ID to a "?" which therefore return the wrong result since.

index.php?option=com_hotproperty&view=searches&layout=results&Itemid=1?Field[price][from]=2000&Field[price][to]=3000

and i soon as i change the "?" after "Itemid=1" to a "&" i get the right search results.

it's that "?" that creates all the problem.

(if you'd like i could set-up a FTP and joomla admin access for you on the test site which is a replica of the live site. But i would need to PM you that)

not that i am that i want to sound pushy, but having wrong search results on a real estate site is really bad.

Do you have any idea how to get rid of this conversion of the "&" to a "?".

It's especially very inconvenient when you tell your client that you upgrade the system and end-up with a broken search feature, that used to work just fine before.

It is so strange, because AceSEF should do nothing for this link. Plz provide us a super admin account for test site. Let's see this issue.
