Sobi2 Edit Listing Doesnt Redirect Properly... 2 Months ago
|
|
|
Hi all,
Im trying to edit my sobi listing with acesef v1.5 however it doesnt redirect to the edit form.
Heres the url in details view:
mysite.com/category/listing-name
Heres the url when the edit button is pressed:
mysite.com/category/listing-name?sobi2Task=editSobi
What could be causing this?

Where are you redirect to?
Any screenshot would be helpful.

I'm "redirected" to the details view, no error messages etc, just the normal details view i think it's a problem with the v1.5 sobi extension, as the v1.3 sobi extension hasn't this problem...

Does the ?sobi2Task=editSobi part disappear after getting redirected to view page? What is your SOBI2 component version?

No it stays there throughout, im using latest sobi2,
however I think I've discovered the conflict. In the configuration > urls, theres an option for non-sef to sef.
"If enabled, when accessing the site using the non-SEF URL you will be redirected to the correct SEF URL. If SEF URL does not exist and the “Generate new SEF” option is set to Yes (“No” is recommended for security issues), it will be created on-the-fly.
Default value: Yes"
I have both values set to yes, if I set the second to No, it seems to redirect properly however the url is not very friendly at all: www.mysite.com/index.php?option=com_sobi...emid=120&catid=3
I recall it being category/listing-name/edit in acesef v1.3 could this be added to the new sobi extension too, as it shows the component name etc in the url currently..

Go to "AceSEF=>Extensions=>Sobi2=>Common Parameters" and remove "sobi2Task=editSobi" from "non-SEf variables" list. After that, delete old link and generate new one.

Thanks for the help Gilbert,
however, when removing that line, and generating urls, then clearing cache, my sobi edit page still appears like this:
index.php?option=com_sobi2&sobi2Task=editSobi&sobi2Id=78&Itemid=0&catid=5

First, remove the variable from non-SEF list, then clear cache, then generate URLs.

Gilbert many thanks for your reply, I hadnt realised you replied as I mustve not ticked the notify button!
But anyway, I got it working well now, but only with the optoion to generate non-sef to sef urls on the fly... In your documentation it says "(“No” is recommended for security issues)" ... what security issues is it implying?
Regards,
ampz.
