Sobi2 conflict problems 2 Months, 2 Weeks ago
Hi all,
I have a rather urgent issue and would really like some help please...

I have just noticed that users cannot use sobi correctly when acesef is enabled. They cannot upload listings properly (they get error messages, that they are not authorized to view the page) and when their listing is clicked the same "not authorized to view this page" message appears.

The settings that ctpreate this conflict are: in the sobi2 backend >configuration >registry editor > (under edit_form section) limit_user_entires is set to "1"

Then when the user tries to upload a listing with acesef enabled, they get a message:    "Message
All Changes Saved
You are not authorized to see this page"
...and the listing is not viewable by anyone!

I have tried on different versions of sobi, but the problem still occurs, and only functions as should when acesef is turned off. Of course I need acesef enabled too so how can I get this working?

I'm using acesef v1.3.13 and the relevant acesef-sobi extension for acesef.
I have just also tried on the latest acesef v1.5.5 and the same problem occurs, turn acesef off and it doesn't.

Thanks in advanced.

Hello,

Go to AceSEF=>Configuration=>URLs=>"Insert Active item id" for AceSEF 1.5.5 set to yes and try again please.

Hi Engin,
thanks for your quick reply
I have just tried what you've suggest and the same problem still occurs....
Also please note, I am only temporarily using v1.5.5 as I need to use v1.3.13 for other components to work. I have only installed v1.5.5 for reference to see if the same occurs (it does).

Thanks.

Okay I read the link, and applied the case study to my site. But, I refered to my sef urls in acesef, and there is not duplicate of the "add new entry" link, and nor is there any duplicates in the menus So in effect I dont see ItemID's being the cause, as no duplicates are present. To also prevent duplicates, I have the "record duplicated" option set to No.

It seems to me (however I maybe wrong) that its a redirect problem, or acesef is not handling the url when the listing is uploaded properly. Thats why the "your not authorized..." message is displayed.

[quote from OP]The settings that create this conflict are: in the sobi2 backend >configuration >registry editor > (under edit_form section) limit_user_entires is set to "1"[quote]

This setting just limits the user to one listing, I dont know why its causing such a conflict with acesef though, as soon as I turn acesef off, the listing is viewable and loads properly Confused emoticon also I tried that acesef link feature too, however it doesn't change... And plus after all this testing I will have to revert back to v1.3.13 again, and so would not be able to use it anyway..

Regards,
Ampz.

Okay I found a way to get rid of the not authorized message, by changing the settings in the sobi extension... The main change recreate a Sobi menu item, and the main setting change in the sobi-acesef extension was "skip prefix menu" to Yes, which in turn made sure that only one url will be used...

However, when a user has logged in, they have an option to edit their listing, however when clicking on th edit button, they are taken to their listing's datail view, with a url of "mysite.com/CATEGORY/LISTINGNAME?sobi2Task=editSobi" and not to the form in which they edit the listing.

The above url contains an "un-sef" sobi url, and as its a dynamic url (changes according to users listing) can this be added into the sobi2 extension so it redirects properly?

Thanks in advanced.
