Used this, but it doesn't work ..... www.joomace.net/docs/acesef/faq/301-redi...xphp-to-without-urls

Check: www.morild-dagpleje.dk/
Try adding index.php

Is there someway to remove it in AceSEF?

Hi, index.php just tells the urls the staring route of you site eg www.yoursite.com/ and it's not really something you need to remove as it only sometimes comes on the URL...

I know, but it's still a big issue when it comes to duplicate content........ In Google my pages are found with and without index.php. And indes.php doesn't 301 redirect to the non index.php version = duplicate content

Perhaps Denis can update the page: www.joomace.net/docs/acesef/faq/301-redi...xphp-to-without-urls

That's a valid point which I hadn't thought of as I'm not at that stage yet. Is that why you get so many urls in the sef section of acesef? I think I would like to know how to remove/redirect these too now, hopefully the documentation for it will be updated...

Smile... All the duplicate urls in AceSEF are caused by Joomla, this is one of the things AceSEF fixes. Between all the duplicates, you can choose which one you prefer to use as the correct url. AceSEF will then 301 redirect the other ones to the correct one.

The thing about index.php is not handled bu AceSEF, and the guide Denis wrote is for use in the Joomla .htaccess file.

Perhaps the thing with ondex.php could be part of AceSEF in he future?

Well I have "record duplicate urls" set to No, but I still get around four dlicares for each URL! Maybe it's because I'm using v1.3 ... Could I just delete the urls I'm not going to use then?
I'll look into it, and let you know if I find anything =D

I would STRONGLY recommend upgrading to 1.5.4! - ALOT has happened since 1.3 Smile

Then you can turn on record dulpicates, and run through them to find the correct ones Smile

Unfortunately I'm stuck with v1.3.13 due to a component incompatibility with v1.5.. The interface of v1.5 is great, very nice improvement of features and I didn't have this duplicate problem with it either but I had to roll back to v1.3 , hopefully in the near future I could start using v1.5 again if the incompatibility is fixed, but doubt it as me and the acesef developer have been discussing it...

@Allan
I've updated the article, try the new one plz. However, I've mentioned here different times, this issue will NOT affect your position on SERPs, having SEF URLs means having static files and /index.php, /index.html, /index.asp is equal with / from a physical aspect since / is not a valid file that can contain any content, this is how crawlers handles this issue.

@ampz
All you have to do is to force the developer of that component to use the J! 1.5 standarts (JRoute), not J! 1.0 legacy code (sefRelToAbs).
