I would definitely not recommend you such a modification, why?
1. Every stand-alone component uses it's own tables and does not affect/modify other components' one, it would be kinda hack.
2. AceSEF does not work only with Content (Articles) component, your modification will "try" to restrict it to work just with Content.
3. It won't work because AceSEF calls metadata based on SEF URL, not article id or something else.
4. Content (core) metadata has limited metadata fields, no lang, googlebot and canonical field.

If I just want to provide some keywords so that the core Related Articles function will work, is there any harm in just copying the meta fields into the core fields once in a while?
