JEvents Latest Events date format 6 Months, 3 Weeks ago
In my test environment I have:

  • Joomla 1.5.18

  • JoomFish 2.0.4 (Dutch as Site Default; English as second language). JFrouter placed at first position, JFdatabase as second; JoomFish cookies enabled

  • AceSEF 1.3.7 (no extensions)

  • JEvents 1.5.4 with Latest Events module 1.5.4

  • Shape5 Accordion menu

Without AceSEF enabled everything works as expected. Switching between the two languages works like a charm. The Accordion Menu translates all menu items as soon as I switch from Dutch to English vice versa. Date format of the events is switched between the Dutch (names of the days) and English language (names of the day and AM/PM). So far I know the date/time format is setup by the PHP locale.

I have two problems:

  • The menu items (top level) of the Shape5 accordion menu are not always translated according to the language settings

  • For some reason AceSEF changes the date/time format of JEvents Latest Events. Actually it swaps the Dutch and English date/time format. So on my Dutch homepage I have an English date/time format and when I choose the English version of my homepage I have the Dutch date/time format

I did a few more tests with Latest Events:

When I install a fresh version of Joomla 1,5, JoomFish and AceSef it will "translate" the date format as expected (US date vs NL date format). In that case there is no problem and AceSef behaves as normal.
But I am currently trying to migratie my website from Joomla 1.0 to 1.5 using a migrator (I will not migrate my events, just the content of other pages). After the import I have a website with two languages and Latest Events shows the next events as it should with the correct date format. But soon as I turn on AceSef I have a problem with the date format as described in my first post. I migrated my website on Fedora 10, Fedora 11 and CentOS 5.5 and they all had the same problem, just to be sure it is not related to one distribution.
It seems to me that AceSef does not correctly know the current language ID with Latest Events after a JoomFish migration. Is there any background information about this issue ?

Actually I have Latest Events on every page at the bottom of the page, even at the homepage. I have Latest Events within its own module position. So even with or without AceSef I have Latest Events directly under 192.168.1.107
(it is still currently under construction, so no live website on the internet yet). I did clean up the cookies used by Joomla and JoomFish and deleted SEF URLs several times. I also changed the default language with Language manager, but that did not work.
