TOPIC: Component URLs
#6294
Component URLs 8 Months, 1 Week ago
Hello,

So far AceSEF has been working out well. I have one question that I can't seem to find in the forums or any of the documentation (doesn't mean it isn't there I might just be blind). Anyways, my question is this:

Usually you can specify a component url like: /component/option,com_XXX where com_XXX is the name of the component and the default Joomla SEF will take you to that component. However, it appears that AceSEF doesn't work that way, is there a way to get similar functionality?

I also noticed that if a URL like /index.php?option=com_XXX is used AceSEF just returns a 404 if the option "Redirect non-SEF to SEF" is set to Yes. I do see that a new entry is made but it the SEF url is blank is there any way around this so it works more cleanly? I am migrating a site with many different custom components and would prefer to minimize the 404s Smile.

Thanks,
Mike

The Real URL should be:

index.php?option=com_XXX

NOT

/index.php?option=com_XXX

Sorry, that was a typo in my post.

However, that doesn't answer my question on if we can do URLs like...
/component/option,com_XXXX/

Basically is there any way to get to random components when having the option "Redirect non-SEF to SEF" turned on?

The real URL part should be like "index.php?option=com_XXX" for a SEF URL. You should use the Moved URLs section for other redirects.
