Delete failed: 'acesef_upgrade.zip'

All is not good when I do things it seems not to work properly. I generated a sitemap, it said it was

Clicking the upgrade gives

JFolder::create: Could not create directory
Delete failed: 'acesef_upgrade.zip'
Error: Upgrade not available

Sitemap/Generate sitemap results in it stating that it is generated ok but nothing appears. I expected something like a sitemap row to be added. I can ping google, bing etc but whatever I click nothing is displayed. I did previously have AceSEF Pro installed but now have the VIP edition and cannot work out which version it thinks is installed or what to do to fix this?

The ISP says just delete the zip file but I can't find it. Also, why is it upgrading for the non-VIP version?

Make sure that the "Global Configuration=>Server=>Path to Temp-folder" field has a valid value and/or the temp folder is writable.
