TOPIC: Fatal Error when upgrading to 1.51 version cont..

So my upgrade still isn't working and its pretty frustrating.

I finally successfully upgraded acesef but it caused more problems then it fixed. After the upgrade the home page loads but the rest of the site goes into a continual redirect loop. Or if a page loads it loads the 404 page.

Firefox page load error:

Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.

All the data is in the jos_acesef_urls and jos_acesef_urls_upgrade

I tried everything to get this to work and would like to upgrade as soon as possible as version 1.3.12 is really taxing our server.

I understand your frustration but I would also request to think about us, issues inside issues without any relation but the title.

Anyway, leave it away and lets try to solve your issue.

Plz, respond these questions kindly:
1. What is your current version?
2. Did you receive any error message during upgrade process?
3. How many URLs do you have in total?

Hey Denis, I didn't mean to come across as brash. I will try to give you as much info here as possible.

Running version 1.3.12.

The first attempt to upgrade I received the error "Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted" so I upped the memory allowed in php.ini. Dropped all the tables in the db and reinserted them with a copy from my live site. I did the same with all the files.(so fresh site) Then it re-installed with no errors.

There are about 4000 rows in acesef_urls. About 700 of them are actual live urls.

The one thing I did notice that was peculiar was after the upgrade all the acesef buttons didn't show up. But after saving in the configuration they did.

The in configuration.php the class properly renamed its self to AcesefConfig.

The acesef_urls and acesef_urls_upgrade tables were filled with the same number of rows.

I tried using a dynamic url and it redirected properly to the sef url but didn't display anything but the 404 page.

Please let me know if you have any other questions or need me to submit any code/data to you

I'll retry the install and let you know what the error log says. I was going to put them in this post but I'm not sure which errors were happening before the successful install and which ones were after.

Here is where I am at after today:

I was able to get a successful update to acesef. The issues I now have after the update are:

1. All joomla id's over 700 show up as links to the homepage and don't append the sef url(I don't have any ids in the 800's so I'm not sure about them yet). The link just shows up as the base url. The weird thing is if I do a joomla site search they show up fine on the search page.

Example:

id 731 doesn't show up but the links before and after do.

2. It takes for ever to log-in to the administrator council (1-2 min)
3. Loading the Acesef control panel takes about the same amount of time and saving the configuration settings takes about a min as well
