Novice moving urls from sh404sef to joomace 9 Months ago
Dear Support Forum,

i am now using acesef after uninstalling sh404sef. I am a novice and this has caused some technical issues, so i would like to ask how this might be resolved?

a) 404 pages - i have hundreds if not thousand or so, as acesef has created new urls - -- do i need to move each URL, one by one (from sh404sef to acesef) using your move urls function? is there an easier way?

perhaps, is it at all possible to enable all 404 pages (as well as all non existent pages) to go to my homepage? e.g. www.mysite.com/anything to www.mysite.com?

as a quick fix

all your help is appricated.

best regards,

I would suggest to export sh404SEF URLs and import them to AceSEF so that the old URL structure will be reserverd. Check our doc plz:

Many thanks for your reply, it's appreciated.

I uninstalled sh404sef already, so i can guess i no longer have the option to export/import the urls?

i guess ill need to check my error logs and do it manually one by one in move urls?

I still would like to know if its poss to redirect all non-existent urls to my home page until i've completed the one by one work.

thanks again and best regards,

Check your database via phpMyAdmin, if you could find the jos_redirection table then you can import them with a custom work.

You can redirect the 404 pages to home page, go to AceSEF=>Configuration=>404 Page and set it to Homepage.

Thanks again.

im not entirely sure what to do.

If i upgrade to a paid version of acesef, would you be able to attempt to fix this this for me (if i send you the jos_redirect data)? or explain how i can do it step by step. it appears i have a number of duplicate pages and 404s that i want to redirect (even just all to homepage would cheer me up). Would you be able to login (if i give you some admin access) and quality check my site and advice me step by step (I am a novice)? (if i am a paying customer?)

also, whats the best way to upgrade to a paid version when i already have the free verion installed?

i appreciate all your support in advance.

kind regards,
cat

Thanks Denis, i have just purchased 2 hours support and completed a support form for you.

as well as this 301 migration from old sh404sef to my acesef urls - could you default 301 redirect any pages that dont work or no longer exist to the homepage too that would be ace (for those that you can find).

for example, i uninstalled seyret so all the pages which had seyret content redirecting to the homepage would be appreciated.

let me know if there is anything i can do to help? (i.e. do you need craw errors etc?)

basically if you can quality check and clean up the site within the support time that's fab

many thanks and kind regards,
lee

OK, we've scheduled this and will also redirect any pages that don't work to homepage.
