AceShop 1.3 is out

Hi all,

I'm happy to announce the new version of the ultimate Joomla Shopping Cart component, AceShop. This release includes a lot of improvements, bug fixes and new features such as Alias field for SEF URLs, AyelShop to AceShop migration tool and a lot more.

Alias Field

This feature was asked a lot from our customers. It's one of the additions (no hack) we've made over the core OpenCart package to make it Joomla compatible. It also indicates that we can easily drop implementing the OpenCart development and continue the development of AceShop as a standalone Joomla component in the future.

AyelShop Migration

Finally the migration tool for AyelShop => AceShop is ready. Check this article to learn how migrate from AyelShop to AceShop in 4 clicks without losing anything.

AceShop Themes

As you can see from the above image, we've started creating AceShop themes. As you may know, OpenCart themes require hard (for user) modifications to be AceShop compatible so we're also going to get in contact with OpenCart theme developers to make their themes AceShop compatible.

The first 10-15 themes designed by us will be available for free to all AceShop users. Each one will have a different color so you won't have to wait any Joomla template company to make AceShop templates.

AceShop <=> AceSEF

In the next releases, we'll be focused on the full integration of AceShop and AceSEF so you would be able to edit the SEF URL, Metadata etc. of AceShop products, categories etc. from AceShop without having to go to AceSEF.

    Our approach on this issue is that AceShop updates will only be provided once it has been evaluated that the OpenCart version has reached a point of overall stability.

    Very soon the OpenCart 1.5.2.2 will be released as the current version has too many bugs, even with SSL so I guess that it will take about 2-3 weeks to have the latest version of OpenCart inside AceShop.

when will you have some type of integration for Jomsocial? I want to let my members review their purchase from their profile. Is this a feature that can be integrated into ACEshop?

does anyone know how long the AYELSHOP MIGRATION takes? Mines seem to be stuck on loading, when it comes to migrate files....

  If you have too much images/downloads then it will take some time. It also depends on the server's speed.

Just a quick warning from my own experience - When you reach the point of uninstalling AyelShop, only uninstall the main component, and don't try to uninstall the Quick Icons and All-In-One module at the same time. Uninstalling the main component will uninstall those automatically. :-) I tried to do all three at once, and ended up with the dreaded blank screen.

  It appears I was wrong. For some reason on my site, when I uninstall just the component, I get a blank screen, and have to re-upload site. I feel a support ticket coming on...

Yep, easy caramelcode, the aceshop and opencart versions are both shown in the toolbar next to the parameters icon.

You shouldn't any modified in Opencart core files but we will release of latest opencart in AceShop soon.
